Manchester United and The Christie are uniting to beat cancer.
The Christie Charity raises vital funds for The Christie, one of Europe’s leading cancer treatment centres. Like Manchester United, The Christie has a worldwide reputation for excellence.
Manchester United’s support of The Christie helps with the vital rehabilitation of their young cancer patients. The Christie’s Young Oncology Unit provides award-winning support services for teenagers and young adults. This incredible unit is one of just ten dedicated teenage cancer units in the country and helps around 150 new patients every year, making it the second largest of these specialist units in the country. Their services include support groups both during and after treatment, specialist ward therapists, sibling and family support, and physiotherapy.
The continued support Manchester United gives to The Christie’s Young Oncology Unit has meant The Christie can continue to provide the very best care for the young patients enabling them to lead as normal a life as possible, during a time when they face complete upheaval, and rehabilitation helps them to achieve this.
